Mercy Ayub

Mercy Ayub is a seasoned IT professional and research fellow with extensive experience in both academic and technical environments. She has a diverse skill set in areas such as Data science, Research, IT system virtualization (VMware), network administration, database management, and system troubleshooting. Her strong customer service orientation and ability to effectively communicate complex IT issues have been instrumental in her roles across various institutions. Currently, as a Research Fellow at ACTS, Mercy contributes to scholarly activities, manages the AI4D scholarship program, and supports research and development initiatives. With a solid educational background in Computer Science, including a Master’s degree from the University of Nairobi, she has also held key positions as an Infrastructure Engineer at DTOne and as a part-time lecturer at both Cooperative University and Mount Kenya University. 

Notable Achievements and Projects
Research Fellow at ACTS: Supported management of various projects and consultancies including HSRC/Facebook AI project and AI4D Africa Scholarship project. 

Infrastructure Engineer at DTOne: Successfully maintained and monitored datacenter infrastructure, virtualized environments, and ensured service delivery compliance. 

IT Specialist at AUA INDUSTRIA Limited: Managed IT department operations, installed new hardware/software, and facilitated server room redesign and data backup. 

Lecturer Roles: Conducting lectures, preparation of research materials, and design of course content at Cooperative University and Mount Kenya University.
