Dr. Dorcas Kalele

Dr. Dorcas Kalele is an agriculture and climate change adaptation expert with over 15 years of experience in agriculture research and development. Dorcas holds a PhD in Climate Change and Adaptation, University of Nairobi, Kenya, MSc in Crop Protection, Ghent University, Belgium and a BSc. in Horticulture, Moi University, Kenya. She is the Head of the Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Security Program at ACTS. Her expertise includes inclusive climate-smart innovations and technologies for resilient, sustainable and profitable agri-food systems, transdisciplinary and action-oriented research, capacity strengthening, plant health systems, transformative agriculture policies and investments. She is interested in research that cuts across science-policy-practice interface, while integrating gender and social inclusion to enhance smallholder rural farmers’ food and nutrition security, climate resilience, and social and economic empowerment and transformation.
