The aim of this book is to examine the role of public policy and institutions in promoting genetic resources conservation and utilization in Kenya. The study was based on a global survey of trends in the utilization and conservation of genetic resources and a field study of Bungoma District in western Kenya. This was supplemented by a review of the existing policy and legal instruments related to genetic resources conservation and use in Kenya.
