The United Kingdom (UK) Commonwealth Scholarship Commission is sponsoring 10 Scholarships for the UK Open University Master of Science in Environmental Management. This is a three year distance learning course, which commences in November 2020. The course is taught by the Open University, UK and managed locally by the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS).
ACTS is a leading international development policy think tank working on issues of science, technology, innovation (STI) and sustainable development. It has over 20 years’ experience in managing STI capacity building initiatives within and outside Africa.
The Open University (http://www.open.ac.uk/) is a world-leading distance-teaching Institution with over 170 000 students worldwide. It is the largest academic Institution in the UK and has been running this programme in Kenya since 2015, with the first group of students graduating in 2019.
Requirements:
Applicant must:
- Be a Kenyan national.
- Hold a relevant undergraduate degree in environmental science or engineering from a University recognised in the UK, or able to show adequate technical proficiency.
- Have a relevant working experience on environmental issues in Kenya, whether in the public and private sectors, or in the civil society
- Have access to a computer and the internet, and
- Complete the application form available at http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/applicants/ no later than 4th May 2020.
Scholarships will cover all course fees, amounting to £12,000.
