Dr Tommaso Ciarli is Senior Research Fellow at UNU-MERIT and SPRU, University of Sussex. He has led funded projects and published on the relationship between science, technology and innovation and social challenges; inclusive innovation and structural change; modelling economic growth and structural change; innovation, employment and inequality; the impact of violent conflict on economic activity; among other topics. He has served as advisor for several governments and international organisations. He has a PhD in industrial economics and development from the University of Birmingham and the University of Ferrara.
