2nd CJ Seminar Series Focus

The 2nd Calestous Juma seminar will focus on Steering Science, Technology and Innovation to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically, the seminar will showcase best practices in the transformation of agriculture and fisheries sectors through integration of STI; synthesize and reflect on the lessons learnt in the global pilot programme of the STI for SDG roadmaps in Africa; launch the STRINGS project’s final report; and present the findings of the case study on STI pathways on fishing/overfishing in Lake Victoria basin. There will also be presenations of case studies on STI for SDG roadmaps. Finally, the seminar will also discuss the role of STI in steering agri-food system transformation.

About CJLF

The Calestous Juma Legacy Foundation (CJLF) is a U.S. based non-profit foundation, founded in 2019 to foster policies, programs and projects to develop and utilize technological innovation in education, public health, and in advancing the application of science and technology in economic transformation and sustainable development, particularly in Kenya, Africa, and developing countries. The initial focus of the Foundation’s work will be on Calestous Juma’s hometown of Port Victoria, Bunyala District, Kenya, on the shores of Lake Victoria.
