Joel holds PhD, MSc. (D) in Environmental Science, specializing in Limnology and Wetland Ecosystems from UNESCO-IHE Institute for water education, Delft, The Netherlands; and BSc. (H), in Applied Aquatic Science, from Egerton University, Kenya. Has received advanced training in participatory research methods, multi-scale environmental modeling and biodiversity habitat scenario modeling from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria. Currently pursuing a PhD programme titled “Impacts of climate variability and dynamics of agricultural related chemical residues on available water resources in Kenya” at UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education and Technical University Delft, The Netherlands.
He represents ACTS in the Kenya “Water Dialogue” forum, the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), among other collaborative initiatives. He is part of the secretariat for The African Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics).
